Packing for Camp:

Campers will be asked to refrain from wearing the following:

Adult campers are welcome to bring their phones and cameras, however please be respectful about cell phone usage. Adult Space Academy is jam packed with activities and experiences you won’t want to watch through a lens. Please limit cell phone and camera use to appropriate times, and keep them tucked away during movies, presentations, activities, and missions.

No, flight suits are optional and may be purchased for $99. Trainees are sized upon arrival to ensure proper fit.

Space Camp: T-shirt, shorts, hooded sweatshirt, sweatpants and backpack*

Aviation Challenge: T-shirt, hooded sweatshirt, camouflage pants and a knapsack*

Robotics trainees receive the Space Camp gear.

*In the event the exact style is not available, a comparable item will be substituted. Items are distributed at camp, and upon arrival trainees are sized to ensure proper fit.

While at Camp, trainees should wear clothing that is comfortable and designed for active pursuits. Clothing should be appropriate for activities such as hanging in harnesses, working through challenges on the ropes course and should be versatile enough to transition from many varied active endeavors in the course of a Camp day.

We suggest durable shorts that cover the upper thigh to prevent chafing from webbing and harness straps for all genders.

Just as NASA schedules an astronaut’s personal communication time while on the International Space Station (ISS), Space Camp trainees have scheduled times when personal communication is permitted on cell phones and other mobile communication devices. Astronauts talk to friends and family when they are not working and when the ISS is in the correct range for a communications link. Internet and cellular network permitting, Space Camp trainees have designated time in their schedules in the morning when they are getting ready for their busy day and in the evening before they go to bed.
