Bill Clearman left Blakely, Georgia, after 11 years of formal schooling to study Engineering at Georgia Tech. Mr. Clearman worked for NASA for ten years as director of the Saturn V Project Office. Mr. Clearman was active in churches in every community where he lived, often teaching, assisting in leadership roles with unflappable good humor and common sense and occasionally sharing his NASA experiences with appreciative audiences. William T. Clearman died in his sleep on April 30, 2004, at his home in Highlands, North Carolina. The Clearman family has established the William T. Clearman Memorial Scholarship Fund for students attending Miller County High School and Miller County Middle School in Southwest Georgia. The base donation amount is $10.
