OAK Captain Heidi Cayouette passed away in October 1997 in an acrobatics aircraft accident. In the aftermath of her untimely death, Heidis Southwest friends extended to her family the amazing LUV and support she had always talked about. Her family decided to keep Heidis name flying high at Southwest Airlines by opening the Heidi Cayouette Memorial Scholarship Fund. All of the proceeds from the fund go to a scholarship available only to the children of Southwest Airlines employees. The scholarship enables one child of a Southwest employee to attend SPACE CAMP each year. Thanks to Heidis family, some very lucky Southwest children will have the opportunity to fulfill their own dreams to fly! The base donation amount is $10.
