History and Technology
Explore how space travel has evolved from rockets to sending man to live and work in space. Discover how space travel affects us here on earth in our everyday lives. Build and launch your own rocket, design a capsule for you and your crew and plan a landing on Mars!

Robotics 101/201
Learn the secrets of building and programming LEGO Mindstorms, and take a dive into our 24-foot Underwater Astronaut Trainer tank using a SeaPerch remotely-operated vehicle. We are offering both a beginner session for students who want to learn the basics of programming and engineering with robotics, and an advanced session for students who want to hone their skills to compete in the FIRST LEGO League.

Homeschool Series - Winter Session

Simple Machines
Join us to celebrate the opening of our new exhibit, Da Vinci the Genius with a special homeschool session focusing on Renaissance thinkers and their contributions to science and engineering. Explore the use of simple machines like levers, pulleys and inclined planes using LEGO Simple Machine kits. Build and race your own flying machines and design a parachute to protect your very own “Egg-splorer.”

Astronomy
Join us to learn the history and use of telescopes, both earthbound and orbital. Use solar telescopes to track the evolution of sunspots and the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics online telescopes to take pictures of your deep-space objects. Bring your family to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center® to explore the night sky with our reflecting and refracting telescopes!

Homeschool Expedition Camp Week $309
December 9 - 13, 2013
Expedition is designed for the entire classroom to attend camp together for an amazing hands-on educational adventure! This is a weeklong, daytime-only camp for grades 4-8. The program is correlated to the state of Alabama’s Course of Study for Science and Math and utilizes the excitement of spaceflight to teach scientific concepts as well as teamwork, leadership and decision-making.
