I met wonderful people, I learned a lot about astrophysics, how the Shuttle, MOCR and space station worked, and the importance of team building. I also learned about acronyms, which was important for later in satellite design class and when working in government! Seriously though, it was an experience I'll never forget and I hope to bring my daughter when she's older.

Space Camp helped me experience the space program in a way I could never have simply by reading books in the library. I had always wanted a career in space and Space Camp gave me that brief taste just before entering college, confirming I was on the right path.

Still a fan of the space program. Wish that shuttle was going to see that 100 flight lifetime..

Space Academy was the first experience I had of collaborating and working together as a team to accomplish a meaningful goal - while having tons of fun and genuinely enjoying one another. This has been an enduring vision to me for how teams can appreciate the unique giftings and abilities of each member, set aside differences when needed, work hard to reach a goal, and celebrate it afterward. I also appreciated the opportunity to get to know people from different cultures other than my own. I also remember peering out one evening to see a field of fireflies lighting up the night for the first time in my life and feeling overcome by a sense of awe.

In addition to the same experiences everyone else has, I also met a very good friend at Academy Level II (we were in each other's wedding).

My husband and I met at Space Academy, and have attended the Parent/Child Space Camp program with our oldest two children.

Camp showed me real world practical applications to the rather boring scholastic learning I had been receiving in school. I, in a short time, made some fantastic friends and found a new excitement for traditional schooling when I returned home. Your program was to me and I am sure still is inspiring to those privileged to participate. Thanks so much for what you do.

Space Academy gave me the first place where I was surrounded by peers that were into science. It was actually cool to be smart. Space Academy also gave me my first chance to ever leave the country. I went to the USSR in 1990 with a delegation lead by Dr. Barnhart.
