Camp made an impact, because I had experiences that changed my life. I loved learning about the lessons that I took immediately back to my classroom. I was lucky enough to attend Space Academy for teachers twice! My classroom has been positively and permanently impacted. My life has been forever changed.

I use many of the lessons I learned in my science class and run my school's after school rocket club.

I am working on getting a recreational pilots license

It showed me that I could go beyond what I thought my boundaries were. If I could go through Space Camp at age 60, I can do anything! Ever since Allen B Shepard made his infamous space flight while I was in high school, I wanted to be an astronaut. The Space Camp experience was as close as I'll ever get to that dream. The IMAX movie "Magnificent Obsession" made me feel like I had actually gone to the moon. Its something I will always remember!

I use a Star Lab (both analog & digital), videos, experiments from my Zero-G experience, and all of the great Math and Language Arts activities I brought back with me to incorporate our Science lessons into the curriculum. The kids love it! I gained confidence during the Aviation Challenge and realized leadership skills I never knew I had.
