Tickets for Star Wars exhibit at U.S. Space & Rocket Center on sale NOW!
More than 150,000 expected for Center's "biggest event ever"
HUNTSVILLE, AL -- The Rocket City will take on a futuristic look next summer as the U.S. Space & Rocket Center brings one of the world’s most popular exhibits to the Tennessee Valley.
The Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination exhibit will fill the original museum building at the Space Center, and museum hours are being extended to handled the anticipated crowds. In fact, tickets are already on sale!
“We believe this will go down as the biggest event ever for the Space & Rocket Center,” says Holly Beach, the USSRC’s Vice President of Marketing. She adds, "It has the potential to bring millions of dollars into the local economy."
As a result, Beach says the Space Center has partnered with many of the area's attractions and hotels in order to maximize the economic impact and provide a more complete experience for visitors. Several local attractions are planning special events to coincide with the exhibit, and participating hotels will offer special incentives to their guests.
"We want the people who will come to Huntsville to see the Star Wars exhibit to stay a little longer and do a little more. It's a great opportunity to show off what we have here in North Alabama and everyone will benefit," Beach says.
The Space Center's "Guide to the Galaxy" vacation planning guide, loaded with ideas of things to see and do in North Alabama will be available soon. It will be distributed throughout Alabama and upon request from www.spacecamp.com/1000.
Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination will make its first appearance in the Southeast beginning June 25, 2010 and runs through September 6th. The Space & Rocket Center will be open from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Sunday through Thursday during the exhibit, and 9:00 A.M. 'til 11:00 P.M. on Fridays and Saturdays.
