During June, 283 teachers from across the United States and the world will be attending the SPACE ACADEMY for Educators Program at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. Since 2004, over 900 teachers have participated in this professional development program sponsored by Honeywell Hometown Solutions. By working to upgrade standards of instruction for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects, they are making a real difference in classrooms across the world. Since the program began, Honeywell has sponsored teachers from 49 of the 50 states in the United States and from 34 countries.

I have just returned to Edinburgh, Scotland from graduating on the week 3 Space Academy course 27-3 June/July. I want to give my true thanks to all the team at Space Camp who were so kind, helpful, understanding, highly knowledgeable and extremely professional. They made my experience for the 6 days more memorable than I could ever have imagined. I will take a wealth of resources back with me to use in every way possible to enthuse the youngsters here in Scotland.
So thank you to everyone at the Space camp and at Honeywell, for what has to be the best CPD program ever!
I will be producing this month- July a series of oil paintings to depict space camp for educators and I will send the images of these to you as soon as they are complete for your interest.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, to Honeywell and everyone else that made it possible for me to visit Huntsville June 20-26. It was the most amazing time of my life other than getting married.
I had the privilege of attending week one of the 2009 Space Academy for Educators. This was one of the most rewarding and unforgettable experiences I have had. The simulations, workshops, and all activities were well organized and of the highest quality. All academy personnel were helpful and so enthusiastic. I want to express my thanks to everyone who had a part in this incredible week. A special thanks to the employees of Honeywell International whose generous contributions made this possible!
