Mission to Atlanta
ATLANTA – The Space Camp® Team recently returned from a nine-day tour of Atlanta, where they visited Town Center at Cobb in Kennesaw and spoke to students at area schools about working and living in space.
We visited 14 schools, 3 Cub Packs and 1 Girls Scout troop, teaching students a presentation called "Crew Systems: Working and Living in Space." We were so impressed with the students interested in space exploration. Many students at Trinity School were interested in how propulsion on the shuttle worked. The students at Kennesaw Charter even wrote thank you notes to us after our presentation! Our team also visited Cub Scout packs, where the parents were amazed about how astronauts drank soda in space.
During the weekend, we visited Town Center at Cobb. Several students from the schools we visited came by Town Center to experience the multi-axis trainer (MAT) and to try the shuttle landing simulator.
To all the schools and students who came out to support the U.S. Space & Rocket Center® and Space Camp, a BIG Space Camp THANK YOU!
