ROBOTICS ACADEMY® is an exciting, five-night experience that will put the next generation of engineers, designers and gear heads to the ultimate test! The program incorporates real-world applications of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Middle school trainees will learn what it’s like to engineer and design robotics on land, in the air, and underwater with state-of-the-art robotics such as Lego Mindstorms, K’Nex and the Office of Naval Research’s SeaPerch undersea robotics.
Trainees are equipped with modern knowledge and prepared to be future space and research leaders. Crew Trainers will guide trainees through the U.S. Space & Rocket Center® where they’ll be introduced to the actual rockets, shuttles, vehicles and rovers that paved the way for NASA astronauts and America’s space flight program. Trainees will test their talent while competing for the overall Robotics Award, the highest honor in the program.
Robotics Academy begins on Sunday afternoon and graduation is on Friday morning. Parents and family members are encouraged to attend the graduation ceremony.
